How MNU Increased Enrollment by 10% with LRAPs
MidAmerica Nazarene University, a private institution outside of Kansas City, makes a powerful promise to all incoming first-time students – an offer that helped them increase freshman enrollment by 10% for Fall 2020.
When MidAmerica Nazarene needed to boost yield late in their 2018-19 recruitment cycle, they decided to offer select students a loan repayment assistance program (LRAP). They offered LRAPs to unresponsive prospects they believed to have gone silent because of cost concerns – and enrolled 40 students with the program.
MNU saw the impact LRAPs have on enrollment decisions. Starting with the 2019-20 class, they chose to offer LRAPs to all incoming first-time students and eligible transfers as a way to differentiate their institution and enroll more students. MidAmerica Nazarene’s custom-labeled program – The Pioneer Pledge – gives prospective students peace of mind and the confidence they need to enroll by removing the fear of student loan debt.
