Pacific Lutheran University Launches PLU Pledge LRAP to Press
Whenever we partner with a campus, we like to help them get the word out about the good they are doing for their students and families; good that helps eliminate fear of student loan debt. We do that in some cases by calling students and families for the schools to let them know about the program, and by providing materials and training to assist in answering any questions that might come up. We also like to share (when appropriate) any news about their programs as they launch. This week, we’d like to take the chance to elevate the efforts of Pacific Lutheran University and the launch of their LRAP, the PLU Pledge, a Lute Loan Safety Net.
When schools work with us to customize their deployment of our loan repayment assistance program (LRAP), they are standing firmly behind a commitment to their students and families. We see those schools reap the rewards of those efforts too, and we often try to share those success stories.
LRAP can be a new concept for students and families (and for schools too, as an enrollment tool) so whenever we have a chance to take the mystery out of that, we try to. Our own data shows, after all, that the more students know about what a school’s LRAP does, the more it becomes a major factor in their decision to enroll at that school.
That’s part of what makes LRAP such a powerful enrollment tool. Students and families that are interested in a school, but feel that the fear of managing the debt after graduation is keeping them from enrolling, get relief from that fear from the LRAP. You can see more about how it might help by watching our LRAP basics video. You should also let us put together a detailed view of what it would look like to bring LRAP to your school.
